The
Best Home Blood Pressure Monitors
Many of us suffer from high blood pressure and would like to keep your numbers under control then it’s a very good idea to have a daily blood pressure monitoring device in your home so it is available at all times to help monitor your blood pressure. It’s a good idea to have a good blood pressure control plan that includes a healthy diet (Dash Diet for hypertension), exercise and for some medication.
So I’ve put together some of the best blood pressure monitors – both arm and wrist- that are now currently available. I’ve taken into account the all important accuracy of the monitor and the comfort of all the monitors.
There are two basic types of monitors there is the wrist monitors and the arm cuff monitors. The arm cuff tend to do better on accuracy but the wrist cuffs are more comfortable.
Aneroid monitors: You squeeze a bulb to inflate the cuff around your upper arm. Then you read a gauge to find your blood pressure. Fit is very important and should fit comfortably on your upper arm
Digital monitors: On some models you inflate the cuff. On others the machine does it for you. Your reading appears on a small screen.
Blood Pressure Wrist Monitors
The wrist monitors are very portable and great to take with you on vacation. They use to be less accurate but technology has advanced a lot in the past few year and they have definitely improved their accuracy now. They are a good option if a cuff monitor hurts or if your upper arm is too large for one then I highly recommend the wrist monitors I have researched below.

Blood Pressure Cuff Monitors
Many doctors recommend upper arm blood pressure monitors for at home use due to their accuracy and consistency.
One of the main reasons people prefer upper arm monitors is that the cuff naturally rests at the same level as your heart. That makes it easy to quickly and accurately measure blood pressure.

Getting the right results is so important,
especially if you are showing them to your Doctor, try and measure your reading
at the same time each day. Don’t smoke, take caffeine or exercise at least 30
minutes before you measure your blood pressure.
Try and rest quietly for at least 5 minutes
before taking a reading and the cuff of the device-wrist or arm should be at
heart level.
